In Sydney, dual Gr I winner Scarlett Lady attempts to improve on her midfield finish in the Gr I Ranvet Stakes when she contests The BMW, having improved significantly in her work since.
She flew back to Hamilton after the Ranvet and returns to Sydney tomorrow.
Another focus for the stable is Schooner Bay, a Windsor Park Stud-owned Falkirk filly who scored at Te Awamutu on debut.
She runs in a Rating 65 sprint at Ellerslie on Monday in preparation for the Gr III $70,000 Windsor Park Stud Breeders’ Stakes (1200m) at Te Rapa on April 28.ly happy with her run at Trentham,” Rogerson said.
”It was really just the bob of her head. Our horse had the wrong stride at the wrong stride and she got beaten a long head.
”She was third to Mufhasa in the Captain Cook and she’s shown she’s right up there with the best fillies and mares.
”The track conditions won’t worry her either. It can rain, it can be dry – she goes pretty much on anything.”
Rogerson said tomorrow’s barrier draw would be crucial to Dating’s chances.
”Every time she’s drawn a decent barrier, she’s either won or run second or third,” she said.
”She’s had a lot of bad luck at the barriers, drawing out so we’ve had to ride her quietly and then she’s flashed home. She’ll definitely be competitive if she can draw a decent barrier.”
